On 7/1/25, for the first time ever, the Debt to the Public exceeded $29 trillion. The exact number was $29,015,375,786,023.67.
When did it first hit $28 trillion? Almost a year ago, on 8/13/2024.
Prior to that, it hit $27 trillion on 1/23/24.
It hit $26 trillion on 8/31/23.
It hit $25 trillion on 6/5/23.
But before that, it was almost a year prior on 8/9/22 that the debt first hit $24 trillion.
When did it first hit $14.5 trillion? On 9/8/17, when Trump had just been president a few months, so let's say about 8 years.
Going forward the Debt to the Public will hit $30 trillion within 3 months, by about 10/1/25, when the new fiscal year starts.
There does seem to be a pattern where the Debt to the Public increases $2 trillion per year almost like clockwork, so the $32 trillion mark should be hit about 8/1/2026. And then going forward $34 trillion in 2027, (where it will hit another debt ceiling), $36 trillion in 2028, $38 trillion in 2029 and $40 trillion in 2030.
