February deficit was the worst ever

February was a horrible month for the government.  It took in only $105 billion, yet it spent $334 billion, for a monthly deficit of $229 billion, the worst ever.  The second worst ever was February 2011, when the deficit was $223 billion.  On a positive note, Medicare and Medicaid expenditures are down slightly year-to-date compared to the prior fiscal year.
