Gold and Yen
Yen is usually quoted as USDJPY - how many yen can you buy with $1. Currently it is about 99.
This is inversely correlated with the price of gold, so when the USDJPY goes up, the price of gold goes down.
Does the price of gold in yen remain constant?

No, but it was about 140,000 yen per ounce as of 12/1/2012, and it is about 140,000 yen per ounce now. It seems like yen and gold is almost interchangeable, except the yen has less volatility. Both of them are depreciating against the almighty US dollar.
Two more charts:
As you can see, at about 7:15am NY time today, in about 1 millisecond, the price of dollars in yen rose from 98 to 99 (1%), and the price of gold dropped from $1474 to $1461 (1%).
